The CMA Awards will pay tribute to three country superstars that passed away this year.
The show will air on ABC on November 11 at 8 p.m. EST. All artists will be in the same building, but there will be no live audience.
Charlie Daniels, who died from a stroke at 83 in July, will be honored during the show’s opening with a medley of songs by Jason Aldea, Dierks Bentley, Brothers Osborne, Jeene Fleenor, and Ashley McBryde. Daniels’ biggest hits include “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” and “Long Haired Country Boy.”
Kenny Rogers, who had hits in multiple genres, passed away at the age of 81 due to natural causes. His country work includes memerable songs with Dolly Parton like “Islands in the Stream” as well as solo hits like “The Gambler” and “Lucille.” Little Big Town will pay tribute to the legend.
