Couple Wins $500K, Then Gets Arrested for Burglary Spree

A couple in Michigan won $500,000 on a lottery scratch ticket, but still wound up getting arrested for a two-month burglary spree.

According to MLive.com, 29-year-old Mitchel Arnswald and his 28-year-old girlfriend, Stephanie Harvell, won $500,000 on a scratch ticket in January in 2016.  The couple says they got the winning ticket on the same day they got an eviction notice.

The couple said they planned to use the money for a house, a car, and college funds for their two daughters.  However, it doesn’t seem like they were the wisest of spenders as they were just busted for breaking into homes over the last two months.  Police used evidence from multiple break-ins to catch the couple and arrest them on charges of home invasion and possession of burglary tools.
